To whom it may concern

I think this email could have been
written in more professional mail instead of highlighted message
sounding like " nagging from parents". Since he wants us to forward it
to anyone who wants to volunteer, that anyone can be someone
non-burmese , or someone older with a lot of experience in charity
issue.


This highlighted part of email pisses off some people. Smile The
project organizer should look into someone with PR ( Public Relation)
skill.

Thanks for your concern and comment.
It was written in more friendly manner rather than an official invitation letter.
We are creating a warm and friendly environment for the new
volunteers to join in as well as making comfortable for the current
members.
I will buy your comment on "what if the mail is to forward to
someone older with a lot of experience in charity issue." It is kinda
true.
However, I do not understand why some people might get pissed off
by hilighted words in the email. They just don't like the color or they
are just negative minded??
Anyway, thanks for your comment and we will try our best to accomdate you all.

1st of all what I meant by highlighted was the whole blue part, 2nd
part of letter, not to the highlighted words. My bad that I didn't
state it clearer.


2nd point. I was at the briefing. There are couple of points that I would like to point out.

What is the objective of the whole briefing?

    * to let the Foreign Diplomats know about aftermath of cyclone condition?
    * to recruit the volunteer?
    * to raise the funds?

There are a lot of redundancy in power
point slides. If you want to show the Organization plan of "Operation
Nargis", why SMU charity's Organization was flashed ? What do you want
your audience to see? "Operation Nagis" or "SMU"?


Why did this director of "Operation Nargis" said in front of
Diplomats that " we want Nargis to be back to headlines because China's
earthquake is now popular"? This is totally unprofessional!!! You can't
choose what or when to print in news headlines. This is Natural
Disaster!!! Neither we can prevent it nor make it. Press will write any
news from any part of the world. We, Burmese, don't own SPH. The only
way we can approach is by Lobbying with SPH and getting Media's
attention.


Seriously, I do think "Operation Nargis" should get some
professionals to get help with Press issue, Public Relation and
Marketing ASAP. If I were to attend more briefings similar to today
evening, there is less chance of getting public's concern, sympathy and
might even degrade the credibility of "Operation Nargis".


There are a lot of experienced Burmese out there who have
connection with United Nation, Singapore Press Holdings and MediaCorp.
All you have to do is just "seek". They are willing to help.

I am just expressing this long email because I am also another Burmese who cares a lot about Burma as much as you all. Smile

I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed.
As I have mentioned, we are trying our best to make this happen.
The objectives of the whole briefing are confidential to our ECs only.
SMU and operation Nargis?? Hmmm.... seems like you were not paying
attention. There were NUS and SIM as well. We all are working in
parallel due to our own principles and regulations. However, we are
working towards the same goal and we are agreed to work together in
some point.


Anyway, you sounds like a very negative person.
This is what i used to tell to people.
If you can't be a leader, be a good follower. Someone is leading you towards the right way, please be a good supporter.
Being negative can have lots of effects on your ownself.
Please look things in positive way, and give only your
suggestions. Don't criticize the one who is trying his / her best. Only
proper guidance and suggestions will help him / her to do the job in a
better way. Don't just simply ask him to stop and tell him that he is
useless. You have to learn a lot in your life. Please listen to the
others first.


We are trying to help our own people, and you are criticizing us. But what have you done for your country and for the people?
So suggestion only please. We have been taking too much
responsibilities and at this point of time, the last thing we need is
"You are useless, ask someone else to do." So no negative comments
please.
